Infinera, ACG and Lightwave Discuss Transforming Networks in the New Era of Open Networking

New cloud-based applications are driving insatiable and increasingly dynamic demand for bandwidth across service providers’ subsea, long-haul terrestrial, metro and data center interconnect (DCI) networks. Internet content providers are generating new traffic patterns in transport networks and driving new architectural principles such as disaggregation and openness, rich software programmability and new commercial models.

On Monday, June 12, at 11 a.m. PDT, I’ll join Pravin Mahajan, Director of Product Marketing at Infinera for a webinar “Cloud Scale Optical Network Questions? Get the Answers.

In this webinar, I’ll review optical networking performance through 2016, including revenue and port counts. And, looking forward, I’ll share the market and technology forces that are driving the emergence of the software-defined, programmable optical underlay.

Pravin will discuss the simplified network model that combines elephant flows and mice flows for cloud-scale transport. We’ll examine unique hardware innovations and SDN control, which deliver on-demand software defined capacity, automated optical engineering and a pay-as-you deploy commercial model. Bring your questions for our 15-minute Q&A in the last part of this one-hour live webinar.

The webinar will be moderated by Stephen Hardy, Editorial Director/Associate Publisher, Lightwave and Broadband Technology.
